People can't enjoy video games anymore

Posted by Catninjaxd - November 27th, 2022

God recently is seems like people just can't enjoy and appreciate new games that release and have to nitpick on them for the most retarded of reasons.

For example I really enjoyed Bayonetta 3 and it was a blast to play through and I thought it was on par with the first 2 games but you can't bring it up in a conversation without mentioning the whole Helena Taylor controversy or people hating on Viola's gameplay or the Jeanne segments. I admit Viola's more complicated to play as than Bayonetta but that shouldn't ruin the game nor should the Jeanne chapters which I thought were a nice break from the main gameplay.

People can't seem to enjoy Sonic Frontiers because of dumb shit such as the re-usage of level themes and level design from previous games in the cyberspace levels which are only a tiny fraction of the game. Or Sonic's voice being deeper or constantly comparing it to the previous boost games. I had a good time playing it and think it's a step in the right direction for the series and the best 3D game since Generations. And the Super Sonic fights were absolutely based!

It seems like some individuals drop a game now because it doesn't run at a consistent 60FPS, like who gives a fuck? As long as the FPS doesn't drop constantly to single digits it shouldn't matter. This doesn't just apply to videogames however, but to any media. "Oh one song in an album isn't as much of a banger as the rest so therefore the album sucks". Or people bashing on Squid Game last year because the last 10 minutes were nonsensical. I too thought that but I still loved the show because all the rest of it was fantastic.

It's like a dude in my work who wanted a discount on a jumper because it had a miniscule, white stain on the shoulder. I mean what a single digit IQ dummy. Don't get me wrong, it's human nature to focus and jump immediately to the negatives than the positives but recently I've been trying to focus on the positives in life.

Like the fact that I have a loving family who support my life choices and listen to me, some people don't get that as evidenced with my previous text blog. Like the fact that I'm able bodied and have a university education, others don't have that. I could be deaf, I could be blind, I could be both deaf AND blind or have Stoneman syndrome.
